At the beginning of this school year, I finally found a church home in Birmingham. I have been so amazed by the love of God that pours out of the staff and attendants of Shades Mountain Baptist Church and I am so excited that I get to partner with them in their pursuit of Christ. One big ministry that Shades focuses on is ministry through missions. We believe we are all called to be missionaries for Christ, whether it be in your hometown, at your job, or across the ocean.
This summer, I am so excited because my dear friend and leader Rachael has organized a mission trip to Cannock, England! She and her husband will lead a team of university students (including myself!) to , a church plant started by missionaries Steve and Beth Graham. We will be there for ten days to go into schools and coffee shops in the community to spread the love of Christ, as well as step in as an encouragement for the brave members of the church that stepped out of their comfort zone and into a city where the need for Christ's love was so prevalent. Create Church: Cannock
BUT, getting to and from England is pretty expensive. So we are selling super cool t-shirts this week to raise money! Rachael has written a post about the trip and shirts, and gives you a place to purchase them. You can find that post here. Or you can contact me at [email protected] and I can get your orders to Rachael!
The shirts come with the verse Psalm 19:14,
“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, My Rock and My Redeemer.” Psalm 19:14
And it's super cool because Rachael designed it (she's kinda super amazing, if you can't already tell)!
You can buy the shirt like the one I am wearing, a one-size fits most, or you can chose from the other colors shown below in sizes XS-XXL.
I am so excited for the opportunity to serve Christ through this mission this summer and I will be so thankful for any help I receive from any of you!
Lastly, even if you cannot or chose not to buy a t-shirt, I would ask that you please be in prayer for Rachael and our team as we go on this amazing mission. Please pray for our safety, our willingness to serve, and the state of our hearts and minds. Please also pray that those we minister to will be open to hearing the magnificent message of salvation through Christ.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Callie
